Simple construction with a pitched roof

The existing building will be extended with a two-and-a-half storey U-shaped structure. So-called "Pawlatschen", cantilevered balconies, are attached to the extension on the courtyard side, providing access and communication and allowing flexible floor plans. In order to create an attractive, well-exposed inner courtyard, the existing building will be dismantled in individual areas and extended to include a connecting open staircase and communal roof terrace, thus creating added value for all users. The additional storey will be built as a bulkhead construction. The approach of simple construction with a pitched roof is praised, as it allows for a structurally safe, timber construction.
