Inzersdorfer Höfe

Project 2: Addition to a block edge
Reward Student Trophy 2024

Point blocks with communicative open spaces

The Inzersdorfer Höfe are characterised by their small-scale development. There are eight slightly offset point blocks that continue the existing perimeter block development in an open structure that is permeable to the courtyard. All flats are orientated around corners. Bridges connect the houses floor by floor. They provide access and serve as communal open spaces. The residential buildings are planned as solid timber constructions with a harmonious façade structure. They are structurally appropriate and well detailed. However, it is questionable whether the permeability of the building structure is really suitable for this very urban location.
