Addition to a block edge - Inzersdorferstraße 100, 1100 Wien
Gaps between buildings and block boundary extensions play a crucial role in the urban building scene because of the rising demand for cheap housing and the ensuing need for space for new buildings.
The block boundary for this construction site is intended to be extended to Inzersdorfer Strasse. In the urban area, new, affordable housing must be built in conjunction with a crucial base zone that provides people with a clear added benefit and serves as a hub for the community. Facilities like co-working spaces, small enterprises, repair shops, shops, cafés, meeting rooms, etc. are possible based on the local conditions.
There is also the issue of enough, high-quality open spaces in urban areas, which, in this particular case, is intimately related to the problem of noise abatement and noise emissions in the street space.
On the construction site, a building volume with at least four above-ground storeys and about 6,000m2 of usable floor space is to be created. The nearby building's fire wall on Gußriegelstraße must be joined to the new additional volume.
