The 6th edition of the proHolz Student Trophy competition focuses on the potential for extending existing buildings by adding storeys using timber as a building material. The advantages of timber construction in this area of urban densification are to be explored in the course of the design work.
The aim of the design task is to create new space, conserve resources and at the same time positively develop the use and function of the existing building and its surroundings. The competition is based on three exemplary building sites in three Central European cities. In Vienna, the design task is to extend a home for homeless people, in Munich to add storeys to a medical centre with new living space and in Ljubljana to create accommodation for students.
The proHolz Student Trophy 26 is organised by proHolz Austria in cooperation with proHolz Bayern.
